Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology
Fellow of The International Congress of Oral Implantologists
Dr. Lisa Marvil grew up in Loudoun County, had her fist pony by the time she was three, was a member of the Loudoun Hunt Pony Club and attended Lovettsville Elementary, Blueridge Middle School and finally Loudoun Valley High School. It has always been her goal to return to Loudoun County where she has such fond childhood memories and raise a family of her own.
She graduated from Bryn Mawr College with a degree in English Literature and completed a Masters in teaching at Duke University. After the experience of teaching both abroad and in the US, Lisa decided she might be interested in pursuing something else. She called her family dentist in Leesburg and asked if she could come and help out, and from that moment on she was hooked. She left her small horse farm in Lovettsville, and Lisa attended dental school at Harvard University.
After graduating from Harvard where she was the recipient of the Quintessence Award for Excellence in Clinical Periodontology, she received a Masters degree in Health Sciences and her Certificate in Periodontology from the Medical University of South Carolina where she was chief resident in her final year. Her research interests include laboratory research in mucositis secondary to anti-neoplastic treatment and clinical evaluation of long-term implant survival rates. Dr. Marvil is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
